NEXTALGO: Efficient Algorithms for Next-Generation Distributed Systems

Project NEXTALGO focuses on the computational and communication complexity of selected, relevant problems in the context of Internet of Things and quantum networks. In particular, two classes of problems are taken into account: distributed functional monitoring and decentralized virtual currency.

A key feature of this project is its interdisciplinary nature. NEXTALGO involves engineers, computer scientists and physicists, ensuring that each research question gets considered from different perspectives. We expect that this interdisciplinary approach will lead to the discovery of new connections between the three different fields.
